What the f^%k is wrong with my car.

Well I was driving on the freeway when I heard this squeaking or rubbing of metal in the front on the driverside. So I turn of the music to listen then it went away but when I turn the music on I can hear it again. After 10 minutes driving down the highway the noise was more noticable. It was the metal rubbing noise that was unbearable, I tried tapping on the brake to see what would happen. When I tap on it it squeak and grind a little. After driving for 3o minutes the noise went away. Does anyone have a clue that the heck is wrong with my car? I looked in the faq's but doesn't really help me out.

could be your rotor shield (the metal "dish" that surrounds your rotor). i had the same problem and i just took a screwdriver and pushed the shield back a little bit and the noise never returned.

I had that once. I was on my way to Napierville Dragway for the first time of my life I was all excited and then that sound.... hell I was nervous because I wanted to go to the dragstrip lol. I stopped the car and looked around the driver side front wheel and didnt see anything so I tried pushing the rotor shield to see what would happen... I asked my friend to move forward very slowly while i was looking and listening but the noise had stopped. It was like a year ago and I never heard that sound again... was probably the rotor shield

ok guys I took the wheel of and look at it but nothing seems to be the problem I mean need to replace the pads and the resurface the rotors but nothing major, but I don't hear the noise anymore, but this morning that noise was constant for like 30 minutes or longer and then it disappear and now nothing, it just bugging the hell out of me.
