I was driving in the good old safe Miami Expressway going from palmetto south to 836 east. When Im on the ramp 2 get 2 836 goign about 45 and there is a beautiful random puddle of water right in the middle of the street so guess what, thats right hydroplaned. So Im on the ramp going straight into a concrete wall, first reaction was 2 try 2 get grip and nothin. I see myself going straight into the concrete wall but I see that just before the wall theres a little curb..... I love that curb so much. Because of that curb I avoided hitting a wall and ONLY f*cked up my rim and the lower control arm....What did I learn from this MIAMI ROADS SUCK MY BENT LOWER CONTROL ARM. Hope this happens to any of u guys and just 2 show how much they suck, when i was driving home in my dads safari there was an accident were a civic hydroplaned and hit a porsche 996 in the rear....So dont trust Any roads...

 

my one and only accident happened because of hydroplaning. I was the caboose of a 5 car accident.

replaced, hood, bumper, grill, some stupid metal things that bend really easy by hand, radiator, and a headlight.

wow you are really lucky. i've hydroplaned before and that feeling of helplessness sucks. puddles can sure be deceiving.

 

I know I got lucky, before I hit the wall in my head I told myself u know what I think I need a new lower control arm, same **** happened 2 my friend going 25 and thats what happened 2 him

 

I'm guessing you're still rollling on the Potenza's then.....

it's well-documented that the Potenza RE92 is a terrible tire in the rain.....I suggest if you are looking for something that will NEVER hydroplane (cept in the biggest puddles a little) the Falken 512....but that's another subject for another day Happy you're ok.....

 

Yeah that's the reason you hydroplaned. here in KY we have had really bad rain storms and it flooded a lot. Well i had to drive 3 hours in this and it was tough cause the car was hydroplaning constantly. This was not safe at all. Luckily i know how to drive and with a bit of luck on my side nothing happened. I would suggest toyo proxies 4. These are excellent tires. I have them on my car and i can take turns in the rain w/o any probs. Grips really well.

 

tomorrow im going for my Toyo Proxes 4 cuz i hate blowtenza... i cant drive in the rain, imagine when starts snowing...

Uh.....it wasn't the roads fault.
You were simply driving too fast for conditions and/or your experience with your vehicle.
Oh, and the Falken's will hydroplane at about 75mph in a downpour on the freeway.

I have had Yoko Paradas for about two years. Rain in Nashville is no joke but the drainage systems for the interstate is. When there is a down pour, I can't wait to get back in my car and drive 80+. No hydroplaning here!

I drove from here to Miami to cust cost on a vacation (cruise, no air fare). Miami's roads suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was driving my 98 Neon with a 1.5" drop.

 

so far its been 1 of my worst days.....I'm also tired of the freakin hurricanes that keep coming here to florida the plywood state

I got Falken Ziex ZE-512's...very good all season performace tire. Was going about 70-75 in the left over rains of Hurricane Jeanne here in Pa, no problems

 

u can tell which is the new 1 and which is the old

 

I have falcons and they are damn good in the rain but deep puddles will get them.. which is expected.. i dont use them in the winter tho

Poor kid...he'll eventually have something happen that will make him look back and wish that he could do this little accident 300x's over instead.

Yep, as soon as you said hydroplane I immediately thought crapotenzas.
Too bad you found out the hard way. I hydroplaned once with mine on and quickly replaced them. I have some pirelli's on right now and they are good but my friend has michelin m+s sport or something like that...($200 a piece) tires and well worth it. We've done 80+mph in the rain and they grip fine.
So here's some wise words....its not the mistakes we make in life; its the ability to learn from them and move on that make us who we are.
Things we learned today:
1. Never drive in the rain with crapotenzas.
2. Buy a/m tires if you have to drive your maxima.
3. Don't complain about florida state roads...its like you think you went
through 4 hurricanes or something...geez. Actually so the roads are probably
like what they are up here in PA where we get 5 months of this stuff called
ice and snow.
