9004 HID beam question

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with 9004 HID upgrade and what the beam looks like, I've heard rumblings of a scattered pattern, would it be better to upgrade to a 9007 harness and go from there? Also, what are the best kits available?
Thanks,

don't put hids in your stock housings, that's the best idea.

Yeah, unless the car specifically had a HID option it's not a good idea. If you want a nice bright light, go with some SilverStars.

i have hid's and i love them..... everyone i know with the kits are happy. there are 2 people who do not like them....people who do not have them(jeaulous of some headlight bulbs) j/k, and people who have gone all out and did a projector retrofit. make yourself happy and if you want to spend the money and get them, go for it. i did and i did not concider it a mistake. i would of done it earlier if i relized how awsome they are

Being that I've had one kit without glare shields and currently have one with, I'd say don't use a kit without the shields. It reduces some of the glare in the stock housings. Try retrofitting if you can.

It's a shield mated to the bulb to reduce glare. It's just a piece of metal attached with a flat finish on the side that faces the bulb.
