Will RE-0930 fit the Injen CAI on '97 Max?
I know that it would fit the pipe since the inlet diameter is 3", but would there be any clearance issues in the radiator area.

If it will fit w/o a problem then I would like to get one.

 

I don't know, you'd have to look at your current filter, look at the clearances, and find out if you have enough room for it. The complete filter specs are available on the K&N website.

 

For what I have in stock, the closest thing I have in that size would be a RU-3570.

I need one, but I just ordered my intake thursday and it's a place racing. Not sure if the K&N will fit in there, but as soon as I install the intake I will let you know. I definitely want one if it will indeed fit.

 

The RU-2820 fit the Place Racing intakes. That is the filter they used to use before they went cheap and started using foam filters.

 

Did you get a chance to do the install yet?

 

He has not installed yet, but I am prettysure he will get hte RU-2820, since it was the old PR filter.

The RU-2820 is a round staight air filter, while the RE-0930 is a round tapered filter.

The RE-0930 is wider than the RU-2820.

 

Does your Injen intake use 3" intake piping? If so, then you can use the RU-2820 or I have retail boxed RE-0930's. $37.95 shipped.

Use the RE-0930, it's a bigger filter - $37.95 shipped. This is for the full retail boxed RE-0930, I sold out of the OEM ones a long time ago.

 

the only reason i want to replace my injen filter is because its way too small. if this RU_2820 is bigger, then im down for this GD. the 2820 and 0930 are almost the same size right? from ur description, the 2820 must have more surface area.

Yes, the 2028 and 0930 have roughly the same suface area. The 0930 is mainly more expensive because it ships in a larger box. The filter sizes are roughly the same.
