My one complaint so far about the factory alarm system is that it doesn't chirp when you arm/disarm it. You have to sit there are stare at the turn signals to make sure it arms properly.

So, my question: has anyone managed to work something out where you get a chirp of some sort when you arm/disarm the system?

TIA,

Mack

I had the same exact question and have not recieved a reply. I guess nobody knows, or someone does not want to share.

All I know is that I wish I knew of a way to do it, because it is very annoying aand I am still not fully use to it. Before I use to think "did I lock the doors", now I just click the lock button 2 to 3 times just in case.

If anyone is good with wiring, etc... maybe look at the factory keyless system on a Villager/Quest... my grandmother has a villager (it has the nissan keyless cuz its a nissan remote) and it chirps the horn & flashes the lights when u lock it... its nice in that it doesn BLOW the horn like my TBird, but just chirps it so u can hear it...

I like the logo... very nice... That would be nice for our window stickers...

I'm also very interested in your dei alarm install. Is this the factory add on unit or total replacement?

As far as I know only the 5th Gen cars will honk if you arm arm them. You would probably have to wire something up to make you car do that. I am not exactly sure what or how much it would cost though.

We are smart people, we can figure this out

There has to be a hot lead that flashes the lights. We can just take that and run it to whatever kind of sound device/horn you want.

Let's put our heads together.

As far as I know...

The 2000+ Maxima's have the option of being "silent" or "chirping." To switch modes you have to hold the lock and unlock button on the remote simultaneously for 3 seconds or until the lights flash 3 times.

I've asked numerous people if this works on a 4th gen and they all said no. There has to be some way to rewire the alarm though. Hmmmm...
