i got a e-bay nismo short shifter about 6 months ago, i got it, then i read a thread about it not fitting right or the wrong size bearing or something like that... anyways now to the point, I want to put it in and i was wondering if anyone knew what was exactly wrong with it?

yeah buddy, dont' do it. i would just cut my oem shifter now if i'd known about how it turned out. i actually just got my budget y-pipe and a testpipe. since i am gettin the testpipe put on, i also bought one of them short shifters from ebay for cheap. i believe this one is from cosmo racing. i got the mechanics to install it for me and boy, i tell you, it's just aint' right at all. first of all, it's not shorter at all. second, the angle it bends makes you think it'll fit. after i install it, the shifter isn't centered anymore, we even redid it on opposite direction, it's even worse. now the shifter shifts 1,3,5 gears touching the plastic console cover. it's really ghetto. i am considering putting the oem back. i might cut it.

 

besides the fact that it is NOT a NISMO short shifter?

 

Well the fact that nismo is ENGRAVED into it, i thought it might help specify which one i had gotten off of e-bay
