where to put jack stands/raise rear

Everyone always says "support the vehicle securely on jack stands." That's great, but nobody ever shows me a good place to put the stands. Where do you guys put yours to support the car (all points)?

Also, where's a good place to place the jack to lift the rear of the car (both sides)? I looked around but didn't see a place that looked strong enough to lift the car.

TIA,

Doug

The factory jack points (for use with the facotyr scissor jack) are denoted by two little notches in the seam that runs under thedge of each side of the car.

If I'm just jacking up one corner of the car, I place the floor jack just inside the lip, lined up with the nothces. Don't put the floor jack on the lip, you'll cruch and bend the $hit out of it.

To get the whole car up, I place the jack in the middle of the rear beam and jack the whole back up at once. If you look under the car, on the sides, just inside and forward of the rear factory jack notches, you'll see an oval hole punched out of a little pod looking protrusion near the trailing arm mounting point. That's where I place the rear jackstands.

On the front, I put the jack under the crossmember that goes under the engine and jack the whole front up. I place the jackstands just inside the lip under the side of the car, lined up with the front jacking notches.
