If not lines on fuel rails, where is smell coming from?

I replaced every inch of fuel line under the hood of my 89 SE back in January b/c the driver side line on the fuel rails was leaking. That took care of the smell until just a couple of weeks ago. This time it does not go away after the car warms up; it is very strong every time I stop. It appears that there is gas leakage at the tops of two injectors, not where they seat into the fuel rails. I actually replaced all of the o-rings on the injectors and the big gaskets that they seat down into a few years ago. Does my problem sound like injectors need to be replaced or can the injector be resealed (if that makes sense)?

Sure sounds like you need new injectors.

i have a two broken bolts on my manifold, does anyone think that could be where my gas smell is coming from? I only get the smell when the engine is cold, not after its warmed up. I have checked all the lines and they are solid. I guess i could check my injectors next.

My buddies quote after riding in the car with me the other day "i used to like the smell of gasoline, but not now dude. Youre car is stinky"

and i dont want a stinky car

Have you check the fuel pump? Pull out the rear seat. Also, when you fuel the car up, don't try to top it off by squeezing the nozzle trigger repeatly.

I believe VGs have rubber lines attached to the tops of the injectors. Those could be old/cracked/leaking? Common VG problem.

I think those rubber lines on top are only on the pre-89 versions. 2nd Gens have them that way. My 90 VG has "regular" ones. But, since he says that there's fuel seeping from the tops of the injectors, I would say the injector itself is leaking.

tripleGmax- your manifold studs wouldn't cause a gas smell. An exhaust smell maybe, but not gas.
