Is there a Front Lower Tie bar (suspension)
Is there a Front Lower Tie bar (suspension)
I heard there is a company (behlim sp????) that makes a bar that ties the suspension together in the front. it goes under the car. I've searched google and the forums but can't find any info. anybody know what I'm talking about. Some guys just mentioned to me that it's available now and it really helps

I have the GT Fabrications one... though they are reworking their site...
I would get a FSTB first before this...

If mzmtg says it is on his list of things to buy, that means it does some pretty awesome things to the performance/handling of the max. That much I have learned. He knows what he is talking about, and is serious about making his car fast/handle great.
I have talked to Matt also, he knows what he is doing.
I have heard nothing but praise from these lower tie bars. (they do something totally different than the FSTB. I know that much)

jus a lil idea on what i want done to my handling.
my handling upgrades as follows,
stage 1: FSTB (installed), Rear way bar (not installed yet)
Stage 2: Performance shocks and springs (not installed yet)
Stage 3: Blehmco tie bar, sub frame connectors, upgrade tires. (will be purchased soon)
right now im on stage 1.5, i need to install my RSB to finish what i call stage 1 suspension(basic bolt on stufff). Then im gonna install my shocks and springs to complete stage 2 (more dramatic suspension upgrades). Then im going to add the tie bar and sub frame connectors to complete stage 3. Performance tires can come in at any time, more than likely they will be added when i get my rims.
ive heard nothing but good things about the blehmco bar, i do remember hearing they didnt test clearance issues with the cattman headers, i dont know if they updated that yet tho.

Sadly, I felt it was necessary to uninstall my lower tie brace a few weeks ago. The roads here are just too beat up and I was hitting road hazards on the brace quite frequently: road kill, rocks, cement chunks, construction debris. It got to the point where I was always worried when driving... I finally had to uninstall it for piece of mind. Ground clearance of the bar isn't great. There have been a couple of times with an extra person on board, that I scraped the road (undulating) going about 45mph! It definitely does stiffen up the flexible 4th gen front end, but at a cost...
i emailed matt a little while ago, he said he had to make a new batch of the stage 2 tie bar. They are supposed to be up for grabs in the next few weeks....i know i'm down for one once they're done
This is a good product, if you have a 5spd installation is cake. However, if you have a automatic it is slightly harder... involves removing the control arm a bit. Matt recommends getting energy suspension bushing and it will make the installation a lot easier. I didn't get the bushings and it made the installation a bit more difficult to do. Because it involves aligning the bar and the control arm right.
Overall it is a good product, makes the front of the car move as one and the frame a lot stiffer. Still haven't got the rear sway bar though.
