wierd pluggy thinger majiger

I was working on my ve today and noticed a plug (like a home outlet type plug) and so i followed the trail and it leads to some sensor thingy on the block anyone know what this is? im new to the ve so if its a dumb question dont yell at me. sorry i dont have any pics i could try and get some 2moro

maybe a block heater installed by someone else

there isn't a power plug stock on the VE

well i found it when i was takeing off the grill so i followed the wire and it led to the block faceing out towards the front and to the side of the tranny it looks like some sensor thing cant quite figure it out sounds like i need to get a pic of it ill try and get one 2moro but until then any ideas and whats a block heater

ok i looked up the block heater and it sounds like that is what i got anyone else have one is it beneficial and is it ok if i use it if it hasent been used in a while?

Well, there are TONS of 'em here in ND. I've got one on my '90 SE, but none on my '93 SE. I believe that's because my '90 is originally from up north (Montana, to be precise), and my '93 is from a more southern state (Southern Oklahoma, according to CarFax).
I never really paid much attention to them until I moved here. My son even thought it was funny that so many cars here were electric.

My first Max (VE 5-speed) had a block heater on it. I used it a lot in the winter. I never did find out if it was aftermarket or something the dealer would have installed. I bought the car used in 95 and I think it had around 60k miles on it, so it could have been either.

What your talking about is just the block heater, +5 hp if you take it off. So did you learn how to drive that thing yet?
