o2 simulator
o2 simulator
hello i added the o2 simulator about 4 weeks ago and ive cleared my comp about 4 times and the o2 sensors still makes the ses light come on. what do i do, and maybe i connected it wrong but the light blinks like its suppost to. i bought the duel simmulator i put both pos and neg to the simulator and then seperate sensor wires did i do it wrong thanx for the help.
did you cut the signal wire? not sure what colors yours is but make sure there is no signal wire from the sensor to the connector. the simulator should be the only thing hooked to the signal wire.
Do you still have the o2 sensors connected electrically? If not the ECU will sense the heater circuit is not working and give a CEL. The o2's must stay connected electrically and then just tied in position somewhere.
yes the o2 sim is hooked up by itself no more sensor everything appears correct but its still sends a cel i hooked up the pos from both sensor positives and negitives to the sim and i have to sensor wires from the sim both and 1 heat wire from the sensors was i not supposted put both pos and negs to the sim even tho it works ? iam not a electronic guy so iam confused but thanxs for the help if u might no the problem i can answer questions if u may be able to help with asking the questions cause it looks right its just still sending a cel thanx

The sensor HAS to be hooked up or it won't work. It doesn't have to be installed in the pipe but it still has to be hooked up for the simulator to work properly. As I said in my previous post the ECU will detect the heater is not working even though the simulator is sending a signal. The heater detection is a separate issue so the sensor still has to be connected.

Will this work either way, or is one way better than the other? I assume they would stay connected into the exhaust pipe?
