newbie intro with question about speedo and car in general

First I would like to say that any and all info is welcome. I know there are different views from everyone so I like to hear all sides then take what I agree with from it . I am new the the org and also new to the maxima world(actually the import world) I have a 93 GXE that I had bought for a couple of hundred bucks. This car has multiple problems but nothing MAJOR. The car is actually a one owner and in GOOD condition less the body damage. I have been reading the past posts for about 2 months now . So I am pretty well up to date on common problems. I.E. exhaust, tranny, ect. I am planning on doing a bunch of mods starting with converting to the SE suspension, 5 sp, and disk rears. As far as the Engine goes I would like to stay with my VG just because everywhere I have read say's it is built like a tank. But I am going to work on making it breathe better. Now that I have given a little insight as to my plans I will ask a question or two. I just recently had my Speedo stop working. It works once in a while . No from what I have gathered so far the speedo is electronical so I was wondering if anyone knew if this was a common prob and could point me in a starting point for diagnosing this or if I just need to start from the speedo and work my way to the tranny myself. My second question is more on a personal opionoin note. I hate become fairly impressed with the suspension setup on the max's and wondered just how far you could tweak it. Maybe enough for road courses? I just would like to play with it and suprise alot of people since it is a 4 door. My last sleeper was a 67 belvidere II I love the lookl you get when your 4 door family car hands someone thier A** . Well thanx for any input and hopefully this isn't in the wrong area or a repost

Speed sensor. And don't bother putting the SE suspension on. Just by Koni shocks and Eibach springs

for suspension, talk to Matt93SE. He makes lots of great parts that can greatly improve your handling along with front and rear sway bars, improved shocks and springs (like Jeff said, dont waste the time putting in SE stuff - go aftermarket)
between www.mattblehm.com, www.internetautomart.com, and www.warpspeedperformance.com (subfrace connectors, Y-pipe), you should be pretty well off

thanx jeff about the speedo. yeah thats what I planned for the suspension(aftermarket all the way) but when I said se suspension I didn't clarify, I meant the Rear struts for the disc brakes. From what I have gotten off of here is that is a fairly easy and cheap swap and I feel that is an outstanding improvement over my drums.
