That info is also on the homepage of the org.

Intersting how the 3.5 VQ has SHORTER final drive than the 4th gen.

I notice this on long trips, not so good for gas mileage, great for off the line take off's, even though probably not necassary due to the added torque of the 3.5

That's why an '04 6spd tranny with HLSD(if possible to add) would be killer on the less torquey VQ30 gens..

That's a good point and that would definatly be sweet, but highway gas mileage would be affected.

Oh yeah .. What's the 6th gear cruising rpm on the 6th gen? And obviously 3.5L vs 3.0L.

I notice it with my 4th and 5.5g, the 5.5g has a very high metabolism.

Isnt SR20 putting on in his 5.5g? Doesnt really matter b/c the 5.5g has the torque.
He will probably have to eliminate 1st gear for 1/4 mile I think he said.

I hope SR20DEN does.

Stealing some quick numbers off a web calc, so just approximate RPM for stock 225/50/17 tires in top-gears:

Speed/4th-5th gen/5.5gen/6gen
---------------------------------------
60mph/2368rpm/1871rpm/2029rpm
70mph/2763rpm/2183rpm/2367rpm
80mph/3157rpm/2495rpm/2705rpm
90mph/3552rpm/2806rpm/3043rpm

The numbers for the 6th gen look just like an auto 4th gen. . . And the #'s for the 4th-5th gen look like an auto 5.5g.

Those 4th gen #'s are probably very close to what they're seeing now 5spd, maybe even lower.

I wonder if anyone do a cartest sim on it.

Back to your earlier question, SR20DEN did put an '04 tranny in his 5.5gen and 1st was useless he said, but 2nd was too tall. Anyways, I mean the HLSD, he might see if the '04 tranny accepts the '02-'03 HLSD.

Here is the CarTest thread:
