removing rear deck

hi, I was wondering if any knew how to remove the flimsy rear deck along with the bose speaker covers and third brake light. I want just bare metal in the back.

Thanks

If it's the same as a 95 all you have to do is remove the back seats. Once that is done, you will see 2 bolts that hold the front part of the rear deck down. Unscrew those bolts, lift up a little and slide the rear deck forward. Should come out with ease. I removed mine a couple of months ago and used fatamat liquid as a sound bearer because my subs hit so hard they loosened the speaker grill covers and they rattled everytime my bass would hit.

Most rear decks us snap in clips to hold the panel to the metal structure. From underneath, you may be able to squeeze the clips and push up on them. Once they're all out, the panel may be removed.

It hooks on too. After you take those screws out, lift up the seat.

It's just clipped in there, plastic clips. I removed mine a while back and redid the rear deck to cover the hole.

well on my 3rd gen, the light is held in by these plastic clip thingies. u pop these circle covers on each side of the housing and then remove the plastic clip. unhook the wiring harness and it comes out.
