Y's are a waste for the 3.5 you might see 1-5hp
Get headers and you see around 20hp. That and headers come with a Y so if you want to upgrade later you'll need to replace the aftermarket Y and try to sell it.

do the headers shave life from the 02 max and do they make your car sound like a ricer?

The headers will not shave life from your maxima. Sound all depends on your exhaust setup. Whether you have a cat or no cat and of course type of muffler...with a stock muffler headers sound really sweet.

Juice...I have to say I am really jocking your max. I love your kit, color, and rims. Honestly IMHO its one of the hotter ones on the org. I plan on getting all the same aftermarket parts that you have on your car to get those times. Tell me exactly what you have on their and appx how much total it cost you. If you did it over again would you choose any different performance parts. I have an 03 Titanium/Platinum color hell I dont even know what the official color it is. I have the stock rims that are chrome. I want to get the same times you have since I have an auto and my friend I work with has the light silver one his is manual and I really want to whipp his butt.

i have a cattman y on order too, and that post kinda scared me a little. here is a link to the dynos that Cattman did on their headers vs. the y pipe (so you can see the gains a y pipe made) and also a thread with someone who dynoed with a y pipe...but you cant see the sheets unfortunately (red xs)

With a Frankencar mid pipe and $tealen Pop, Warpspeed B w/res. & Flowmaster muffler I dyno'd 212.6HP & 231.7TQ on the stock Y.

I just Installed HS headers (bought from blubyu2k2) and am waiting to get the Franken cat-back as the current setup is to loud.

Juice, can you tell me some more about that VB Mod. What does it do, where can you get it, I hear about it but I am unsure what it really does or provide for you. Again thanks for your help!

Is this something that most tranny shops would be able to do for me If I get the part? Also, I commute alot in my car, in your opinion would this have any negative impacts on my tranny for longterm life? Also do you recommend getting the tranny cooler? Again thanks for the info!!

cattman and warpspeed aren't the same.

Lots of people claim benefits from cattman, but the warpspeed (which i have owned)
is crap.

my thoughts. I think you should go straight for headers.

im keeping the order for my y pipe...i mean, $350 vs $850, thats a large jump...maybe down the line, i can get a set of used headers and sell my y pipe, but for the moment, the VQ has enough power to keep me happy, and the Y, combined with the berk intake and cattman exhaust and UDP that i will soon order, i think the power should be sufficient.
