Are all 5th Gen Exhausts the same?

Hi guys I have a 3rd gen, and I was thinkin of getting a 5th gen exhaust, from after the catylic converter on. I just want to know is there ANY difference in 5th gen exhausts? Do all 5th gens yrs/trim levels use the same exhaust? Is not, what are the differences in looks/sound?

Thanks guys!

the I30 muffler is higher flow and gives 5 more HP. hence why the AE has 227 rather than 222

you are wrong. i thought maybe someone with the car would know. the muffler is the same as other 5th gens except for the tips. the difference in the AE exhaust is the b pipe which has a different part number from other 2k/2k1s. no one has ever measured it but im guessing its a minor size difference. the ecu also has a different part number from the other 2k1s but thats nothing to do with the exhaust.

The exhaust after the cat is the same. They used the same muffler just put different tips on the end of it. The main difference is that the 2k and some 2k1 have fed spec y-pipes and some are cali spec.... The 2k2+ have a totally different y-pipe. The cat are different from the 5th gen (2k and 2k1 ) to the 5.5th gen(2k2 and 2k3)

why are people still preaching on with this myth?

Part# for 2k-2k1 Maxima/I30's are the same. IIRC, 2k2-2k3/I35's have the same part# as well.

2k and 2k1 GLE and SE have that 'round thingy' and GXE doesn't IIRC.

^nope, it doesn't. No OEM packages available on the GXE came with that option unless its dealer installed.

When buying a muffler, if you plan on buying it directly from the dealer, buy a GXE muffler as they charge and arm and a leg for an SE-GLE muffler because they have those purdy tips. You can buy even purdier tips at your nearest rice store for cheapo.
