So my 96's sunroof was tilted open, now it wont close.

I can hear the motor running when the switch is moved to tilt open more only, so I ordered/installed a new switch.

Nothing....... before it rains...

Sorry to tell you this but your track is either broken, or the wire has come off the track.
The track repair kit is only $30 or so, but labor is somewhere around $400-$500 at the dealer.

You can do the repair yourself (I did), but it's a lot of work:

So I was able to close it manually by crank under the dome light.

It freed itself up, and now works. But got stuck again, so I used the crank to shut it.

So at least it works and if it gets stuck I know the procedure..
