my Max wont start. It tries, but gives faint noises then stops. I finally got it to catch, and gave it some gas. while it was running, I checked under the hood. the two fans in the front (by the radiator) werent spinning. Arent they suppost to? I shut the car off right away. could a belt have snapped? what belt is it, and where is it located? could it be the cause of my car not starting? thanks..

The 2 fans won't spin till your engine reaches a certain temp they are not belt driven [unless a 99 is different then a 95, but i dont think so]. Is your check engine light on? Any codes?

 

nope you are correct they only turn on when they reach a certain temp.

 

I alwasy recommend first ruling out your starter first, then your battery then your alternator.
