Aside from attending Skip Barber (which I would love to do someday, but money prevents for now...) where can I read about the different shifting techniques? I can handle the practice, but where do I learn how to better drive a stick? I don't even know the difference between power shifting and lift throttle and all that. I'm basically teaching myself to drive a manual. I hear the best launch is 1300? rpms and drop the clutch, or 3000 and ride the clutch, then floor it (or as close to without spinning the tires) to redline, then quickly shift to 2, and so on. I assume there's more to it than that. Thanks for any info, links, advice, etc! How much knowledge, practice, and skill will it take to match those Motor Trend times? Oh, and I hear everyone talking about going to the track and racing and getting times. Where might I find an opportunity like this, in Indiana? Is there a place in Indianapolis?
