VQ35 longblock + VQ30 Cam Gear = What?

I just had a thought that if someone were to take a complete VQ35 motor,
used VQ30 cam gears, and the VQ30 timing cover, would that essentially take away the VTC, allowing the 4th gen cam pos sensor to be used on the VQ35 heads?, and not having to disassemble the engine for 3.0 heads?

The 3.0 cam pos sensor reads a signal off of the cams right? Someone please tell me this is the case!

I think every possible combination has been discussed already.

Yes the VQ30 cam sensor reads the marks off the main timing gear.

you would have to ditch the following

3.5 cams
3.5TB

you would need to use...
3.0 timing covers
oil pan upper/lower
3.0 IAC modded to work with 2k2+IM
And a bunch of other lil wiring/and hoses
Im not sure on how the EGR will work either

Didn't you use the 3.5 oil pans? And that bolted up to the 3.0 timing cover right?

3.5 pan needs shaved too mount the CPS right. They will work either way its just the 3.5 one is a lil different.
