door locks

none of my door locks work. Could a regular locksmith take care of that? Would it be expensive?

It sounds like your key is worn out. Can you get a new key make by the code that should be in your glove box? It doesn't make sense that both locks would screw up at the same time. Will the key open the trunk? Are you locked out? Anymore keys?

does the key turn, but it is very stiff, and the door unlocks but re-locks immediately? if so, you have a problem with the door lock timer.

The door that does not unlock either way may have had the rod fall off that actually operates the lock mechanism inside the door itself. you will have to take off the inside door trim panel to check it out and fix it.

the door lock time is under the dash to the right of the steering wheel, pretty much in line with the edge of the console. i don't think that the door lock timer is responsible for your one door not working.

My problems kinda like that as well. My key works for trunk and driver door but not the passenger. And i have to close all doors to lock it. if i lock it then close any door. It unlocks all the doors. Weird.

My key is stiff in the door locks and doesn't work in the trunk at all. I was wondering if the trunk uses a different key.

bhunter, What code in the glove box?

Hi,

probably your trunk lock is stuck,

when you use your key does it open the trunk,

if it doesn't then you have to use wd40 or some special grease on it in order for the lock to turn,

i had the same problem,

i had to use wd40 in order for the key to open the trunk,

There is a key code to make new keys by that a dealer or locksmith can use. They usually give it to you with the warrranty book and also a little stick- on label inside the glove box. With that an exact new key can be made instead of going to a hardware store and getting a copy made of a worn key.

There were no books or manuals with this car. I'll check for a label in the glovebox when I get home but I highly doubt if it's there.

Thanks for the tip, though!
