Bose stereo out of balance

Ihave a strange problem. From time to time, the speakers on the drivers side of my 03 Max crap out when a cd is played. The radio works fine. Any thoughts?

Same thing happened to me and a lot of other people on this board. It is the BOSE head unit, it's a POS. Someone posted a TSB form for it here somewhere and I printed it and brought it to the dealer. They swapped it out and it works fine now (fingers crossed).

I've already had 2 head units replaced on my 03 Max by the dealer for this problem. I just passed 36,000 miles today, so next time I'm stuck.
