Getting new paint job in 2 weeks

Hey guys my superblack cars paint is in pretty good condition, but there are some small chips, dings, and scratches that really irritate me. I'm on the quest of an essentially new Max, building auto tranny sometime after paint job, and going FI with either built engine or low mileage engine, I'm giving it to Proline Auto Body and Chassis, NJMAXSELTD works there they do good work prices are reasonable but in the world of body shops you get what you pay for and I want a show car quality paint job which is what they will pretty much give me. Should I do the standard 3 base coats, 3 clear coats, I want to remain black, but maybe a metallic black? Or should I stay flat black, my hope and goal is to have the car look better than a mirror. I take exceptional car of cars paint and have almost every detailing product from 3m and Meguiars availble, so guide me in the right direction, and what paint brand manufacturer would be considered the best? I think I read Skippens and PPG somewhere???

I like a little pearl in the paint. It gives it some depth and really makes the curves of the sheetmetal stand out.

What's metallic black look like I'm not even sure, I'm looking for like a glossy mirror like color, btw the car is lowered on HRs, 18" Black Rims with Polished Lip, Sarona Ver. 1 Rear, and Sides, and Stillen Front, with 5% tint, and CF Hood.. its a 97 so maybe that'll give you guys better options as to what would look good.

Is metallic black considered pearl?

I don't know. Pearl is more subtle than metal flake. It gives more of a glow than showing individual metal flakes in the paint like a bass boat or something.

I'm getting a partial Super Black paint job, courtesy of a Mischief Night egg hitting my RF fender and hood. I had this shop repaint my hood in 2002 and it was a good job. Ins Co is paying for hood and fender, I think I'll have the left fender and trunk done for about $400, plus the $100 deduct. on the Ins. Would love a full repaint, but will have to wait for a branch to hit my roof, LOL.

I told the appraiser that the egg also hit the roof, but he didn't buy it, too bad, LOL.

Good luck in whatever decision you make, mine is more simple, just Super Black.
