I have had the N1 now for about 5 months and I love it. If you do get the N1 you will not be disappointed.

I think the main thing going for the AVIC is that it'll play DVD's and MP3's, with sound through your car speakers ... something "normal" nav's won't do.

Magellan - as far as nav is concerned - isn't considered by most to be very high-tech.

Hey Joe Max..... I Conincedently Posted This Thread And I Also Happen To Work At Best Buy. Only experienced Mecp Installers Will Put It In Your Car. I Work In The Mobil Department And I Wouldnt Trust Myself Doing It. I Had One Of My Co Workers Who Have Been Around Cars Alot More Than I Have , Install My Viper 791xv On My 04 Max And He Offered To Install The N1 Aslong As Provided Him With The Propper Harness/kit Etc. It Can Be Done And Best Buy Should Definately Do It As Long As You Give Them The Metra Kit Which Is 99-7404 And The Wire Harness Which I Will Post Tommorrow Because I Dont Know It Off Hand. But Trust Me You Want An Experienced Mecp Person To Touch Your 04 Max

considering im getting the n2 when it is released he did not do it. A lot of people are aftaid to touch maximas because everything is computerized, and they are afraid to botch something serious up. Find someone oyu can trust M E C P experienced person (isay 5 or more years) bestbuy is a good place to get it done though.

Joemax1,
It can be done in the Max as long as you have the correct dash kit and wiring harnesses. I have not done the research, so I do not have part numbers.

Personally, I would never take a vehicle of mine to Bestbuy to have anything installed in it. Don't flame me, but I've seen enough of their s#itty work personally, to know better. Your Bestbuy may be different (they all are), but it is a general consensus that getting stereo work done at these chains (i.e. Bestbuy, Circuit City), is a crap shoot.

I say get yourself the dash kit, harnesses, and do it yourself. It's not a bad install.
