installing all my suspension components myself?

currently sitting in my friends apartment (until i get mine) or on order being shipped to me is the progress rear sway, tokico illuminas, Tein S. techs, matt blehm lower tie, ES suspension bushings, and the cattman front strut bar (on back order).

is there any way i can do all of this stuff myself in my parents garage this winter, if i want to? i ASSume i need a spring compressor for the lower springs and struts/shocks would go in at the same time. the FAQ has instructions for the rear sway and i have them for the LTB, but the bushings may be difficult as well.

i will obviously just have jack stands for this, and i am fairly mechanically inclined. ive done my own intake before, front strut, removed front bumper on my old car, i can do most things as long as i have instructions or a basic knowledge, plus i have friends to help me, but REALISTICALLY, can i install all this stuff over a weekend? are there any things here i should leave to the professionals?

I would take my time and do it over sevreal weekends. The bushings may take the most time. I'm not sure how the bushings on are Maxima's are but I did the ones on my CRX fairly easily and without a press. Having a vise comes in handy along with some large sockets to "press" in the bushings. Plus it can hold the suspension peices when removing the bushing and hold the struts when removing the top nut. Do you have a breaker bar? If not get one with nice 1/2" sockets. To be safe use a spring compressor.

If you follow Housecor's how to on the coils and struts, they should only take you about 6 hrs (with a buddy) I think you can easily do all you mentioned in a weekend.

took me 3 1/2 hours to do the springs with a buddy for the first time.....

Air Compressor tools save you plenty of time.

hopefully i can do the struts and springs one day, and the bushings, sway, and LTB the next. i will see if i can get my hands on some air tools, cuz i dont have any. my good friends brother works at BJ's in the tire department, so maybe one day we can go up there and do pieces of it. it will be much easier with a lift.

if you do struts and springs it will take you the same exact amount of time as just springs....(because everything comes off the strut to change a spring)

Air tools are not necessary, but it would make things easier. A good breaker bar should be all you need. Just make sure you have a 6 point socket too for the lower bolts on the shocks.

Go for it man, if you want to learn how to do it, that's the best way. And it will be more rewarding to drive on your sweet suspension knowing you put it on. You can totally do it in a weekend.

Hmmm...I was under the impression that since the lowering springs are obviously shorter than stock, you wouldn't need to compress the springs much into the struts. Perhaps that's somewhat true with stock struts which makes me wonder, are these aftermarket struts shorter than the oem ones?

Should be simple...all in 1/2 a day's work. Well except for the bushings possibly...haven't done that before...
