Really bad gas mileage. I know I have bad fuel injectors but what about O2 sensors?

Do bad fuel injectors make the mpg really really bad, as in 10 mpg below the expected? What about O2 sensors? Will they affect gas mileage.

So I filled up my tank to 4.54 gallons and only ran 50 miles. That's about 11 mpg. But I drove in the city with many stop lights and stop signs going about 25 mph. I don't even drive fast. Always shifting at 2000 rpms.

The O2 sensor affects gas mileage. But if you are getting 10MPG, it is probably the injectors dumping fuel into combustion chamber. If that's the case, you are running rich and if you bought a new O2 sensor, it would probably die prematurely after being exposed to all that excess fuel. Fix your injectors.

As he said... don't worry about the O2 sensor until you fix the injectors.
it's like sticking a band aid over a crack in the hoover dam- just ain't going to matter.

It sounds great, very nice deep tone, its just loud (straight through design). I have been slowly looking for a replacement that would be quieter, but haven't found any suitable candidates yet (that cost the same or less than the magnaflow, that is).

worse than that, if it's dumping fuel he'll ruin the o2 in short order.

I missed that one.
and of course the cat will get destroyed too.
I sell injectors.

and as an aside, I'm at 157 miles and I need to fill my tank less than an 1/8 left (closer to 1/16th left)

On the note of the injector, will measuring ohms always show whether or not an injector is bad? By that I mean can an injector read around 12 ohms, but still be bad?

Low Mileage

Have you made sure you don't have a dragging brake? I had a mileage drop and found it was a stuck caliper.
