6th gen Vs. 5.5 Gen .....

How do these two cars match up... im not talkign about look wise or quality wise.. im asking Performace wise stock for stock . The reason i ask is because i thoguth both car would be very equal on the hgihway while pushing the car to there limits. I encountered a 6th gen and he wanted to play he was ahead of me and he nailed it as did I but the whole time i had enough power to pass him, but didnt beause i like stickign to his *** and holding him for a while in the end i switch lanes and crept VERY slowly but did go past him. My concern is that i thoguht those cars had more power then ours i know there heavy so shouldnt we stay even the whole way we were both auto.

The sixth gen has more power, but also weighs more. I toyed with one when they came out and could easily pass him (and did) any time I wanted.

Same here, only I did it with 3 other people in my car and no mods whatsoever.

I only had one other person, my fiance (and she weighs next to nothing). At the time I had no mods either. Brotha thought his car was quick until he caught the REAL quickness from my exhaust!

HAHAHAHA! Yeah i encountered one too this morning , he tried to flex his "265HP" on me, all he got was face full of tailights! For a second there i thought maybe he threw his max in reverse!

I have passed many a 6th gen, they hang out down low with my 3.0, but once i'm high in 2nd, at ~50 I walk on them.

265 my ***.

I bet their dynos are probablly the same as ours, they also weigh a ton.

The car is quick, but they are going to get owned by a 5.5 gen, especially one with a few bolt ons. It would be fairly close though depending on who's driving i guess.

6th Gens aren't that impressive in the speed department for their power vs the 5.5 gen but they can handle well in the twisties.

I toyed with one last week and I was able to blow by him easily.

I love the 5.5 gen but I'm sorry to say my car beats it everytime. My bro-in-law has a 5.5 gen and we run them all the time. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I don't know of too many stock 5.5th Gen autos running 14.22 in the 1/4 like the 6th Gen 5 speed auto is capable of...

I'd love to see that. They only have 10 hp more and weigh more than the 5.5 gens...

I guess all I have to say is, Bring It On! You're in Jersey. I'm not too far. The only performance mod I've done is an Injen intake and God only knows how many people here claim that they don't add any power.

People have the slips to prove what the 6th gen could do. As far as GBAUER coming to jersey to race, you are insane.

You know it, baby! Got nothing better to do than beat up on a 6th gen. The designer must've been listening to Baby Got Back when he drew that thing up! Too much junk in da trunk for me... In fact, if it weren't for the front end, the sunroof, and the back end of the car, I'd think it would look great!

That's only because you live in VA! They train you guys down there to drive 5 mph below the speed limit or else the local troopers'll pull you over, beat you up, take your car, throw yo' a$$ in jail, and sleep w/ your girl just for kicks. I hate driving in VA!

Yeah but is that 14.2 with a profesional driver , or a one time fluke at the track with an average driver? Hey i beat my friends J-spec MX6 from a dead stop who runs 13.9 , or should i say he ran his best time of 13.9 ,, runs 14.1 just about every run. i know my car isn't running know 13.9's but if i had to guage it with running against my friends J-spec Mx6, i know i am running low 14's because i can honstly say everytime we run we are kneck and kneck.

All i am saying its highly unlikley that 6 gen will run those times all the time. Those cars are quick, but not as quick as the 5.5 Max.

Maybe its cuz I value other things in life other than trying to prove that "my car is faster than everyone elses"... whatever...

Back to the original question: the people who drive the 5.5 gens are far more attractive, make more money, have more bling-bling, and kick more *** than the 6th gen people!

Can I get a Ahmen in here?!?

I almost got my ars thown in jail for 16 over. I was doing 81 in a 65 in VA and had to hire a lawyer. And then the cop tried to screw my girlfriend in a very uncomfortable place.... like the back of a Volkswagen.

in most cases the 6th gen auto will slightly pull on a 5.5gen auto mostly due to gearing, 5spd auto against the 4spd. on the highway they're more evenly matched and i doubt either car has an advantage.

for the 6spd manuals i think it's pretty much a dead heat drivers being equal.

the 5.5 gen is the better looking car though...

I would love to run the 6th gen guy in jersey, no highway crap though, my license is TOOOOOO important to me these days. We have a great little 1/4 mile track up here we can run, To do it now we would need thirty guys(they closed for the season but will open for thirty cars or more if there available) or we can wait till March when they reopen. I dont really know which car is faster, never ran one, driving them both ,i would have to vote for the 5.5( not because i own one, its just BETTER) so if anyone wants to drag in north jersey lets get the talkin, i would love to offer my hospitality at my home track. And if i loose to any of you i will go home and get my turbo honda and crush you all( that should get someones attention!)

I'll be happy to offer my services as the videographer for said race. I'm in NJ as well.

As for the original poster's story, I had a similar run with a 6G SL on the GS Parkway just south of AC: I was behind him and he looked in the mirror and saw my 5.5G, the road was clear in front and he nailed it. Likewise I nailed it and fairly easily overtook him. (This happened twice.) Then again I do have a Cattman Y-pipe and he had the SL (read: 4AT) model.

I'd love to run a 6G 3.5SE 5AT.

I might even wander up into PA for this! I got the 5.5 gen, A/T you're looking for. Only mod is my intake for now, but by then I hope to have my super-custom PepBoys NOS sticker on my hood. With that I should pull a 7.53 at 201.1 MPH according to my Honduh friends.
