i have a 00 maxima and everytime i start it up ther is a loud squeeking noise coming from the drive belt area.if the belts are loose would it make that noise
at start up.how do u adjust the belts?

 

Spray belt dressing on them. You are in a cold climate, so they get dry. Belt dressing "lubes" them up real good. Good luck. You can also try WD40 liberally on the area. Try with car off, so the stuff doesn't backspray onto you.

 

i get a slight rattling noise...could that be from the belt to or from sumthig else?

 

That might be from bad gas.. i had rattling noise also, and i switched gettin gas from my regular gas station and now no more rattling or pinging.

 

replace your belts I had same prob. both belts replaced at dealer only 88.00
It sounds silky smooth now.
I could have done it much cheaper but I wanted them to check for any other probs before

You got a case of VQ35 rattles. There was a post a while back and about everyone with a 3.5 liter had the same problem. Nobody knows what's causing it yet, though.

 

haha i guess i should just go to the dealer and just have them check it out and look for anything else that is wrong or possibly loose since whenever i start moving from a complete stop i get a creaking noise. only if i had time though
