UPDATE::: DO NOT USE NORMAL EPOXY TO ATTACH THE YELLOW COVER. standard epoxy apparently cannot handle the heat and came loose. It literally kind of "melted" (then flaked off, so no damage to the light). Took it apart and re-did the yellow cover, atttaching it with small clips through the housing...

let me tell you, the smell of melted epoxy is THE WORST smell I have ever smelled in my life...hands down. I literally cannot get the smell off me from taking the light apart. BIG MISTAKE.

So whatever you do, if you can't find some hi-temp epoxy (the stuff I used said 250 degrees, which apparently is not nearly enough).....do it some other way!

Will change the howto in cardomain tomorrow.....hope nobody did it this way, I learned the hard way.

The good news: the new way I attached it seems to work fine and be actually even more secure...live and learn

Great post. Has anyone compared the PIAA H3 Plasma Ion Yellow bulb with irish's Lexus yellow fogs? It seems it will be much easier to just replace the bulb in the stock fogs...?

I am wondering this myself after the epoxy failed for you irish... Would the bulb work just as well???? Yyou said you updated this in cardomain, but I didn't see it when I looked. What exactley should I do if the PIAA bulb won't work?

 

Yeah I need to fix the writeup to show how to do it the new (better) way without epoxy...

As to the bulbs...
First: with OEM housing I used the PIAA Crystal Ion bulbs....result: pale yellow with this wierd greenish tint. Did not like it at all, personally. Not yellow enough...

Second: PIAA crystal ions with Lamin-x yellow film. Still not yellow enough

Third: Lamin-x with Narva/candlepower gold bulbs. almost Yellow enough, but hard to get your hands on the gold bulbs. I was happy with this setup until I saw the Lexus yellow setup that Akogan did.

Fouth: Current. Yellow bulb cover, using my old OEM 55W fog bulbs that came in the car (yeah, I actually saved them all this time!). Perfect. As yellow as the Lexus, and damn it looks good.
