I have a 5th gen and I removed my stock grille without taking off the whole bumper you have to remove the clips behind it

hey I decided to paint my grill without taking it off. :/ It turned out OK..first coat.. but i got a bunch of lilttle bumps on the grill it for some reason. Should i sand it a little? its plastic and i don't know what to do now, cept another coat. also i put scotch tape all around the outline of the grill where i didn't want the spray paint to go and now the spray paint dissolved the scotch tape and i can only take it off my scrubbing it with a finger nail leavin all the glue behind . it looks terrible i need goo gone

those little bumps are either overspray or dust....sand down and use some clear coat....here some pics when I did mine and a link to the how-to i wrote...good luck!

Link for how to

Before the paint...old faded factory gray

Sanded with 400 grit sand paper

Two coats of primer...then sand again with 600 grit

Finished with 2 coats of clear coat

primer helps the paint stick, specially to plastic like the grill. You can just add a couple more paint coats then clear coat it but it might not last long w/o the primer and start coming off in a few months. If you want just sand down what you just painted as much as possible and start again with primer this time...
