Sound when door is locked - Gone!

Hello:
This is just to get an idea what the problem may be and
get an idea of how much I may have shell to rectify it. My 2000 Maxima (82000 miles) is having this problem

When I lock the door, the headlights blink but no sound.
(previously it will sound in addition to lights blinking)

When I unlock the door, the headlights do not blink. (previously lights blink).

Any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks

I can't think of it off hand but this is cover in the manuals. There is a sequence to turn the alert sounds for the alarm on and off via the remote.

Not sure about the 2k models - but mine used to chirp the horn when I locked the car. I read on here a while ago you could turn it off by holding down one of the buttons on the remote to turn it into a silent lock. I disabled the horn chirp and never looked back.

I don't ever remember mine flashing any lights when I unlocked it though.

Maybe try holding down the lock button and see if it flips it back to the audible mode.

If you hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote together for a period of time it will turn on and off the horn..

You have to hold the buttons for at least 2 seconds. It will flash to let you know it changed.

Check the owners manual, otherwise, the back of the key fob has the instructions.
