Hella Optilux AE Fogs don't crack easily
Hella Optilux AE Fogs don't crack easily
For those of you that have or are planning on buying the Hella Optilux angel eye foglights for their 5th gen, mainly to replace their cracked oem fogs, these foglights are good quality.
I've had my set for almost 2 years now and they haven't cracked. The led's for the angel eyes both burn out but I never use them anyway.
I mainly wanted to post this thread b/c I'm currently using 85watt Narva Rally Gold H3's. Yesturday in Toronto, the temperature dipped down to -30 degrees celcius and I had my 85watt bulbs on as daytime running lights, and the lense didnt crack! I was pretty impressed with the quality of the lense on the Hella's, as I'd expect the oem fogs to crack with the drastic temperature changes.

I have these too, and i live 30 minutes frm nathan. Let me tell you, unlike the piece of $hit OEM fogs that was cracked on my 2k2 after 7 months, for nearly 1.5 years, no cracking of my lenses either.
Best damn fogs i had for under $100 CDN

Can Yall post some pix w. those fogs on at night and at day?? My fogs have chips but no cracks on my AE but I cant find a super white h3 w. a slight blue tint besides the ridiculous price for PIAAs. I just think thats crazy money for bulbs IMO. But iv been looking at the HELLAs but wanna see them installed
Guys, if you want pics of the fogs installed on my 2k2, check out my hompage.
They are pretty easy to install, all you have to do is remove the stock fogs, and drill 2 small holes in the inside of the foglight hole. Its just a little tricky to mark where to drill, but once you find the right spot they go in quickly. I bought them from my work in Toronto, but you can try searching google to find a dealer for them.
btw, I initially bought them b/c my oem fogs cracked from a flying stone.
