Done! I noticed no increase in noise at idle or off idle. High end seems to be more fun (no dyno, just my thoughts). It's my wife's car so I have to keep things quiet.

I added a RT cat over a month ago and it did add a *very small* increase in idle noise, but I'm really picky. Overall, I'd say the RT cat + 2000/2001 maxima/i30 muffler is the way to go if you don't want noise. I'd recommend this setup to anyone. 8^)

ps. Thanks to Tim M. for the muffler...

MadMax 69.

I saw San Luis Obispo license plate frame, do you go to a CalPoly State University?...it's a good school I was there 8 years ago but I didn't study there(just a visit).it's one of my favorite school.

Anyway you should get Greddy one if you looking for power, check my car.( I installed Euro Flex radio antenna it's very hard to fix it on Maxima+RacingHart rims+BigBrake and much more.

another picture would be nice...

Did it just fit in? or did you have to cut or adjust anything?

hi all,

Yes, I graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 93 (class of 88) with a BS in CSC. If you're in the bay area, my email is robert@rcreations.com.

The muffler is the same size and has the same hangers as the 99 muffler. Only it's pipe, which connects to the B pipe, is different. The muffler guy simply cut both pipes about 2-3 inches from the muffler, removed old muffler, replace with new muffler, and welded the muffler to the pipe still attached to the B pipe. Easy 10 minute job.

The i30 muffler came with the tips (which are normally bent down) cut off and replaced with 2, 2 inch straight chrome tips. I'm thinking of slipping on larger chrome surrounds to make it look beefier. Overall, it looks plain, stealthy, and is extremely quiet.
