I have officially joined the 00VI club:

Good Hood clearance

4th Gen TB

Good Injector Clearance

To make it fit, I had to grind down 2 of the coil holders in the back like StephenMax did, plus I had to grind off a little bit from 2 of the rear coils. I still have to find a place to mount the IACV, and I have to buy an "L" shaped elbow for the PCV valve, connect various hoses, hook up the VI vacuum system, and i'm good to go.

Im ordering mine in about a week...
Few questions...
Does the Car run without the IACV hooked up ? Did you just lay all the connectors there and thats is ??
Did you fab the plate at the throttle body or whered you buy that ??
how about the EGR guide tube in the back of the manifold, what happens witht hat >? and the coolant lines ??
You used a 4th Gen Lower manifold and drilled or did you use a 5th lower, and injectors, and rail ??
I need learn alot because im gonna be doin this soon

IACV: I made a plate with a barb fitting. I can mount this anywhere in the engine bay, it will be connected to a hose that will be connected to the adapter plate via another barb fitting:

Adapter Plate: I made it out of 2 pieces of aluminum. I wanted the TB to sit upright (oppsed to sitting sort of turned) I had to use two plates so none of the holes would interfere with each other.
EGR: No more EGR for me. Removed the entire system. It was disconnected for about 6 months anyway. The coolant lines just run a hose connecting them to each other.
I am using the 4th gen lower, injectors, and fuel rail. The two inner holes on the 00VI I had to bore out a little bit, and the 2 sides I had to drill new holes.

Im waitin for stephan max's entire write up so I can peice this together... I still may not do this

thanks, I had a general idea about the IACV, but was clueless about the EGR...why are you able to run your car without the EGR system -- why is it not vital? Is it necessary on regular VQ30's?
It isn't vital for the car to run, I have had no problems running the car with it disconnected, it makes the exhaust gases cleaner, but for the sake of easier installation and a cleaner intake manifold, I removed it.

yea there needs to be a sticky on this with all new information full and partial write up's untill a bullet proof write up with detailed pictures becomes available....i have a feeling this mod along with 3.5 bottem ends is going to become as popular and frequent as the Y pipe
Dont you still need a modded ECU with the raised rev limiter?
no egr codes?

Im wondering if this is actaully worth it conserding the amount of the stuff that needs to be changed...where are you goign to mount the IACV ??

.......read all threads about this mod and gains are impressive for the price, but wondering if all modifications done to the IACV and EGR won't come and bite me in the as S
Well I got everything installed and took it out for a spin... OMFG top end pulls NICELY... I can't comment on the low-mid range because I dont have my RPM switch yet, so I left the VI open.
But it keeps stalling at red lights.... So I carefully drive home, pop the hood, idles a little better, I take the IACV and move it back and forth and it starts to idle like normal.
This is leading me to think that when the hood is closed the IACV hose is getting pinched (sort of like a kink in a garden hose)..... So I have to get new hoses and a new elbow, do some idle adjustments, and i'm good to go.
I also had a fuel leak when I started the car... I completely forgot to tighten down the fuel rail
The car felt a little bouncy while on my test drive... Forgot to tighten the upper strut nuts
It's been a long day.
Matty: The 2 center front holes on the 00VI is what needed to be bored out. They look like copper or brass sleeves.
One thing I can't figure out is the vacuum plunger...... I was curious to see what would happen when I connected a vacuum source to it. To my surprise even at idle the the plunger was open.. I then connected a 12V source to the solenoid and nothing happens. Looks like all I need is a standalone MAP switch...

(Nismo3112) It's not needed, it will only add to the performance. But I do want
Without the ECU how do you continue to build power past the stock fuel cutoff?
With the others who have done this, didnt they all have modded ecu's?
Without the extended rev limiter, how far up does it continue to build power?
The EGR system is an emissions device that reduces emissions by recirculating some of the exhaust gas back into the intake system. I wouldn't be surprised if your car fails your next smog check. It's interesting how it was the other way around for me. For a whole year my car had been plagued by EGR related ECU codes and would not pass smog even if my life depended on it until I replaced the EGRC control solenoid valve. But before I replaced that I had spent hours checking the entire system for failing components and other related components. I even replaced all vacuum tubes in the system. I wish you luck on your next smog check! If you already got this covered, I'd like to know how. It's almost useless having a MEVI here in So-Cal, traffic is so congested that its rare that you get to really open her up in the highways and really see the MEVI power in action long enough.

2DaMax: There are no required smog tests in my city. Or else my car would fail terribly

Thats really good for no ecu upgrade. nice steady build of power to a decently high rpm.
