I've seen very many pictures of maximas with the emblems shaved, but it seems kinda awkward to me with the lock still there, can that be shaved too, so that there is a clean look to the trunk?

Thanks

unless you're going to be showing your car for big money, then just tape around it and spray it whatever color your car is... almost invisible

easy way to go

I got a lot of comments on how good it looked shaved but kept hearing about the annoying silver eye staring back..so i first tried just painting a rubber washer black(my car is black) and putting it on.. it looked better then the silver eye but not as good as it could..i just took it off and used touch up paint and painted the lock in like two minutes and it looks great..the only thing i dint paint is the rectangular slit that the actual key goes into...it looks a lot better esp since i blacked out the orange and white on my 98 instead of the conventional clear mod that everyone does...im pimpin a blaxima..if u want pics email me

my baby is totally shaved.. you need to take the lock out, weld up the hole, cover it with bondo or something then add paint to match

Agreed with the guy who said this before, but... tape around the keyhole to isolate it, scuff it with some sandpaper, hit it with some primer, and then paint it with a few light coats of you car's color. Be sure to plug up the actual hole when you do this, you don't want paint getting in the lock itself. Unless you're willing to pay a body shop to do it, this is the only other option.
