SES Light * Ignition System / Misfire *

Hey All.

My car really sucks these days. Its running super slow *big time lag* and it just doesn’t feel like it has power any more. I have to push the throttle like I’m racing just to drive it normally. Just last night I start up the car and it starts shaking, not like vibrations but like thumping. Almost like a fast pulse. A few seconds later the SES light comes on. I got it read at my friends shop, and Ignition System or Misfire came up. So I checked all the coil packs for a bad connection but they were all fine, and the plugs are new. What else can cause this? The thumping stays like that even when I drive. When I drive it, it lags like I’m pulling a heavy load and it takes forever to pull it past 40mph and it doesn’t go past 4000rmp's. What could be the problem behind this?

Any suggestions??? PLEASE!!!!
THanks..

P1320 + P0300 = You have an EGI Harness problem or you have a bad ground by two grounds above oil cap towards passenger side.

P1320 + P0301-6 = replace #1-6 coil(s)

Do you have grounding wire kit ??

Nope. No ground kit. Should i get one?? I just ordered all 6 coils. Got them for 47 each. I think your right though. I looked at the coil packs again and one of the packs were missing the ground prong. I don't know how that happend. I should be getting the packs in Monday. I hope that will cure the problem. But i'll post up again if ne thing gose wrong. nismo start* thanks for the input man..

if any one wants to know where i got the coils from got them here @

Thats your problem, you most likely only need to replace that coil pack, not all 6 of them.

I've bent a prog on a coil pack while doing a spark plug change. Couldn't get the connector to snap in, that was my first clue. If the prong is only bent down, get a needle nose plier or small screwdriver and pull it back up, straighten it out. That could very well fix your misfire too.

I got the P1320 code pulled from Autozone this weekend. The guy didn't mention P0301. Do I need both codes to indicate coils? I know I need plugs, I've got 70k+ on the originals. I also have the same lag problems listed above and the shuddering at start up.

i got the coils in. and the ses light went away. but the car still feels slugish. i can't think of anything els. i took apart the whole trhotle body and cleaned it in and out.. SO MUCH SLUDGE was in there. **not in the throtle body** but in side the intake head. i cleaned as far as my tooth-brush could reach. Car feels smoother. BUT STILL LAGGING. My friend thinks that i have an intake leak and the ECU is in LIMP MODE. If thats that case where the car isn't working properly shouldn't the ECU through another code?

here a list of things that are happening.

1) if i hit full throttle the car jerks, like its chokeing.
2) when i'm rolling at like 20mph and hit full throttle, the car dosen't speed up. it stays at the same speed, even though the throttle is wide open the engin dose not rev. it stays at the same speed and rmps.. but engine sound will get louder.
3) in stop and go traffice when coming down from like 60mph to a 30 mph roll and then just press the gas pedal just to speed up it will jerk for second and then kick in.
4) THE CAR JUST DOSEN"T FEEL LIKE IT HAS ANY POWER!!!!! wether its WOT or just pressing the pedal it accelerates all the same.

anything fellas anything i will try it to fix it. i can't really leave the car at the dealers even tho i want to. i just can't afford the down time on the car. i need it to get to work..

sorry to bump up an old thread....I am experiencing the same exact situation as JKimaxAC......i had a real bad misfiring issue on my car with the code 0300 on OBDII scanner....the car ran just like JKiMaxAC's...real slow, rough idle, hard start-up....

yesterday I dropped in 6 brand new NGK platinums and 6 brand new coils....still runs exactly the same....and i actually think my car got slower from the new coils/sparks....its really misfiring like crazy....and I don't know what to do? someone mentioned EGI harness could be bad? how much do those things run anyway?
