What's up everyone?? I am brand new to the site after buying a 2002 SE 6 spd yesterday. I cannot wait to pick it up Thursday. I traded in my 99 Millenia S for the Max. The 6 speed is incredible, so fast and smooth. Anyways since I've never owned a Maxima before I'm looking for any tips, tricks, other Maxima websites, good places to find accessories and upgrades, etc... Thanks for your help!

Congrats on the new car. treat it well, it it will return the favor. the 6 speed is great, and people make awsome faces when you tell them what you drive. A new product just came out for our max, a STS for the 6-speed. it is worth every penny. i sugest picking one up if you find that the throw on the shifter is too large.

not sure what type of tricks there would be, unless you ask a specific question.

post up pic when you get the car.

welcome to the org.

Welcome to the org. Take some time to look through the stickies at the top of each forum. There's a ton of good info and it will answer a lot of your questions.

The 6 speeds are a blast. You won't regret getting one.

If you haven't already, go to www.cardomain.com and sign up. You can download your pics there and then upload them to this site.

Got some questions.... how do you clear the headlight? And does the Apex SAFC make a huge difference in performance? Which intake produces better results, the Stillen or Injen CAI? If I think if any more questions I'll shoot em at ya...

One thing I highly recommend is investing in a clear bra. These cars are highly prone to paint chips.

Welcome to the board!! As for the CAI they are all pretty much the same with the exception of the Place Racing CAI, it seems to be the only "real" CAI. It is the only one with the filter placed outside of the engine bay. I have the injen because I didn't do my research. But I am satisfied with it. Try and avoid most of the Stillen products, they seem to be a bit too overpriced, and not many can forget the header debacle. I would suggest getting a rear sway bar the Progress RSB that I got from Cattman was a really good investment. Improved the handling of the car, not that my car was all that boaty before I put it on. Just read up in the FAQs and the stickies, also take a look around the first 3-4 pages in the 5th gen forum before asking a question. Chances are, it has already been asked and answered. Also check out Studman's Sticky at top with the search function. It isn't fancy but it works.

also try and get rid of the stock potenza RE92s if theyre still on your car...you do NOT want to drive with these in the rain..i have to drive another car if it is raining outside (which it is frequently here in central tx) because these tires have such poor traction...i was supposed to get new Falkens a while ago, but not enough money The 6 speed is great though...nice choice!

welcome to the org bro and i hope you enjoy you new ride. the max is a great car so long as you dont beat the hell out of it. i would say just go with the basic mods first, learn the car, and research your local vehicle codes to see what you can and cant get away with. also look into the smog laws if you have any where you live. if not then it is ***** out if you have some then you have to tip toe around them. also the max is a great car to work cosmeticly too. good luck and stay origonal

Well it came with the 17inch wheels, moonroof, xenon headlights, spoiler, fogs. No leather, which I didnt want anyway after having a Millenia S with dark leather. Also no BOSE stereo which is good since I plan on changing it out anyways.

Check www.xpel.com. They have a list of local dealers/installers in your neck of the woods.

Also, the clear bra can be waxed over with no ill effects.
