Signs of a bad MAFS?

First off my car started to sputter when i turned it on. Second i can't even go over 4500 rpm and third acceleration is pittiful. Are these signs of a bad MAFS?

I done changed my oil, sparkplugs, etc.

Also if it is my MAFS, i read a while back that us 5.5 can us the 5th generation MAFS and save a little money?

I remember reading about a TSB pertaining to the "pedal stop" on the 5.5. If you press with to much force and to the right it will over exceed the pedal distance and cause a ECU fault. Engine speed is limited and you will get a check engine light. For your sake, I hope this is what is happening because it was a Nissan covered recall..... good luck none-the-less.

How long were you able to drive it before it completely went out? The reason i am asking is that i have about a 50 mile drive back home from work so i am hoping it doesn't cause my engine to stop while i am on the highway. I called Nissan they have a new updated MAFS for $124, a Generstion II MAFS ,the service guy said but it requires refashing the ECU in order for it to work. The old one for my 5.5 is 480 out the door.

I believe that when it fails it kind of makes the car run in safe mode. I'm not sure but when mine blew it sputtered at cold start and then when it was warm it would drive fine until around 4k RPM and then power was gone it it would just rev with no accel. Sometimes it doesn't even go past that but mine did.
