I'm just wondering if anyone uses those engine cleaner solutions that you put into your gas tank b4 u fill up. I had a Camry and used it a few times. I want to say the car felt smoother and ran better, but i dont know if its placebo effect. Do you recommend using any of these kinds of clear solutions and which ones and how often?

 

Some gasoline, like Chevron, has these cleaners built in to the gasoline but more expensive than lets say Arco. Maybe a good thing for preventative maintenance but performance-wise, nothing beats regular maintenance and good gas of course.

 

BG 44k - my fave. I attribute my previous knock sensor code to actual ping / knock occuring. This cleaned things up (carbon buildup I'm guessing) very well and I haven't had the problem since.... yet. I only use this once, maybe twice a year - one can in to a full tank of gas.
