Goodyear RSA cuping??

Well took my car in because the front passenger tire is howling very loud at 45+ miles an hour. Dealer said tire is showing signs of cuping? Not sure what it is but they wouldn't replace it and suggested I buy a new tire. My questions is... Is this something that can replaced under warrenty through dealer or Goodyear?

Not unless it can be proved to be a factory defect. Cupping ( I may be incorrect) is usually caused by underinglation.

The RSA's have had issues with splitting sidewalls. Inspect yours and if there are cracks in the sidewall you will likely be able to get 4 new tires either free or at minimal cost due to a factory defect.

sorry for my lack of knowledge in the tire dept. But would the sidewall be the outer most part of the tire? Where exactly are these cracks developing and how easy are they to notice?

My tires developed cupping in the inner treads. Because I rotated them as directed (every 7,500 miles) I did not find the problem until it was present in all 4 tires. In my case it was caused by the back wheels being slightly out of allignment. I had them properly alligned at about 24 K miles. I'm living with the howl and will be buying new tires earlier than I should have to buy them.

I'm convinced that my car was delivered with this out of allignment condition -- but I can't prove it. Live and learn.

cupping can be caused by weak shocks. Did you check your shocks/struts?
