are these worth putting on your car with stock pads and calibers?

not with stock pads... I just put on brembo slotted/drilled with high performance pads. WOW the difference is huge! i love em, so much more responce! and they keep cool because of the vents, and the holes... Definatly better than stock.

Drilled rotors tend to crack over time... make sure you watch them.

I noticed alot less fade with mine and cermaic pads actually. But i guess to each his own. Metallic pads break apart when u get drilled slotted rotors though so stay away from that combo.

i intern at a garage, and every mechanic ive talked to there unanimously agree that slotted or drilled rotors are better in every aspect.

IMO its not worth it at all. the best set up for everday driving is using blanks and OE pads; greater braking surface, greater stopping force. unless you do circuit racing or something of that nature and cooling is definitely needed, then you would use slotted and/or crossdrilled plus high performance pads. if you decide to go with X-drilled, beware of cracking of the rotors. slotted rotors are all right. pad wear will definitely be faster though.

Any Brembo rotor or pad is better than the stock ones.
Cross-drilled looks cool too.

cross drilled will crack over time around the holes...

and not to you, but to the original poster.. why are you bumping this?.. what answer are you looking for?

Mine are OEM size. The pads i got are ceramic because i didnt want to warm the brakes up every time i drove... I think they are proACT pads, buy Akebono. The best ones they make... But like i said earlyer, i am very pleased with them. And Mr****s95SE? Why would you think that Origional dealer parts brake better than performance brembo parts?

my friend bought brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors off ebay for 180 bucks for the 4-brake set. then he put on some cheapy brake pads... i plan on doing the same, but using hawk brake pads

One last word of warning then I'm out.. the cross-drilled ones are prone to cracking. I've seen cracked one firsthand. Got slotted or dimpled, or both. Don't waste your money on cross drilled you'll be buying new ones again sooner than you'd like and it won't give any performance gains.

keep in mind of location. here in RI we have all four seasons. and some winters, like this one, are harsh. i am aware that they are known for cracking, but if someone who lives somewhere where the weather is pretty consistant 'year round, then i dont see the problem in getting cross drilled/ slotted brakes... i could be wrong though

No.

The only way to improve braking significantly is to get bigger rotors and/or pads. It's all about contact patch.

They certainly don't brake better or worse, they are just FAR less prone to squeal, unless of course, they need to be replaced.

I got mine on ebay for $90 bucks just the fronts drilled slotted and i had them on my car for about 50K miles and 2 years without a single crack. And i used the hell out of them. With frequent runs to a 120+ and back down to the speed limit i noticed ALOT less fade with those than with the stock rotors and pads. All i have to tell anyone thinking about doing this is get good ceramic pads because metal pads will break off into tiny bits under hard load. I had friend on the highway tell me that they saw red hot chips fly off my brakes everytime i slowed down. After that i changed to ceramics and the problem went away. I think thats why people might have cracking in their rotors, because they couple them with the incorrect pads. As for people who don't think drilled slotted rotors are better, look even at the $3k brembo brake kit for the max, and notice that they are drilled and slotted.

If you are just driving around town, don't bother with slotted or drilled, get blanks and get a great pad. I used Stillen drilled for years and they work great, but have a distinctive sound as things slow down. They have always stayed true and never cracked. I felt that performance was better. I finally got fed up with the noise and tried Brembo slotted rotors thinking they would be quieter and they were absolute junk. They are about 10 times louder than the Stillen drilled rotors I used for years. The car sounded like a 4WD truck with knobby tires. No performance gain is worth that. I yanked them off after about 50 miles. Worst mod/change I've ever done. I still need to sell the Brembos on ebay. If you think you want to try either the cross drilled and/or slotted...get a ride with someone else who has them first to make sure you can stand the noise.

If you don't race they're a waste of money.

can u guys post pics of your drilled/slotted rotors and drilled only. I want to know if you get drilled only, you get more holes than the drilled/slotted or the same amount.

Thanks
