I know this is not a max prob but I have no where else to turn, i know you guys know your stuff. Gotta 94 Jetta... Today the tranny went, can only find one gear(I think its third) No reverse nothing, any ideas what might have happened. The gear shift feels totaly loose and i smelled a funny burning smell as well. Managed to roll it in to my shop.. Thanx a lot

I dont think so, clutch engaged fine, prob was that no matter where I positioned the stick, in 1st, 2nd. 3rd, 4th, 5th, or reverse, all i got was 3rd gear, and when engaged the stick was very floppy. I could move it around from side to side...etc
