Hey, Im interested in getting a full body kit, or maybe just the front lip. I dont have much $ so I wanna start with lip. How much would that be and from where, and what brand. I saw the Stillen one on their site, it looks like jsut a little piece is added to bottom of stock bumper, nothing special?? worth $231?
thanks

Not to deter your decision but just wanted to inform you that on the 96 the Stillen front lip can be a pain to install and keep on the car. It's held on by mainly double-sided tape and a couple of screws on the inside of the fenderwells. The 97 & up lips actually hang on to the lower bumper. They grip better. I have one on my 96 and it's already popped off twice. Once because I underestimated a parking stop and the second because I was too lazy to pull it off the first time to reapply some fresh doublesided tape. Just something to consider.

the front lip is about 160 and another 150 to paint and install. The body kit is hard to find for 650 , they tend to run for about 750. For the max you dont have a lot of choice. Its the stillen kit, or the erebuni kit(ugly)
I have seen a bed site that has the something that looks like the stillen kit for 450 plus 170 for shipping. I cant find it though.

The front lip from stillen doesnt even look like that big of a deal! its like a little plastic part added, i think the 97+ kits look so much nicer, maybe i wont get one!. I thought like on accords, it replaces whole bumper!

There has been some discussion here on the boards as to whether a 97 lip will fit on a 96? I'm not sure if it will but you could always get a 97 bumper (I think you'd have to get the grill too but not sure) and buy a 97 lip. Just an idea.

Ok, here's a pic - sorry it's hard to see the lip because my car's black, but i do what i can.

I actually painted the lip myself (came out reeaaaalllyyyy good the first time, perfect - i guess i got the "krylon touch" but i would NOT paint it myself if my car was any color other than black - too easy to tell the difference. I have since had a nasty run in with a dunkin donuts parking curb thing and have scraped the crap out of the lip. I repainted it and it doesn't look as good anymore, i guess someday i'll do a 97 front end conversion). And i also installed the lip myself. It's true, it's hard to install because it's hard to get it to grip onto anything. The lip itself stays on with the tape but that alone wouldn't hold it (at least imo) so i threw 3 screws in the front too.. barely noticeable unless you're looking for it.

Bottom line - unless you enjoy pain and torture or are really broke get the lip installed for you, however, GET THE LIP. It makes the maxima into a totally different car... looks amazing. Believe me.

Go for it.

can the...

could it fit? is the question. will a 2000+ kit from that company that makes the ninja styling or kamikaze styling fit on a 96 maxima. i think maximadriver.com had it done to one of the 2000 maxima's. it looks sweet cause i can emajine a frontmont i/c on that bad boi. and i heard somewhere that the newer generation of prelude kits could fit on a maxima too. dont know if thats true or not. peace brian
