Just got rear view camera, couple ?s

ok well i just got this camera from kawamall.com (same camera as the one in the big GD). and i have a coupoe questions before i install it.

i am getting the AVIC-N1, do i need to purchase a wire "extender" that can go from the video and power to the cig lighter (want to have it on all the time) and to hook up to the avic. or does the avic already have a long enough wire to reach back there?

the red "power" button is like a rca plug, how did you guys hardwire it into your cigerette lighters?

lastly, anyone who has a avic-n1, does it have a "rear view camera" button or what not?

thanks

as far as the red power wire, all you need to do is go to a radio shack, show them the camera, and they will give you what you need. thats what i did.

the unit does not have a button.

and the unit comes with wire that is 1-2 feet long.

hope that helps.

i got my camera to my avic-n1....there is option to turn rear camera ON then you can set it to rear camera VIEW mode....

you'll have to buy longer rca wire to go from camera to avic-n1 unit....the power wire i spliced & grounded it someone in trunk then power wire i ran to rear cig lighter under carpet
