Best Wheel Polish???
Best Wheel Polish???
I've got 17 inch alumnium rims. What is going to be the best polish for getting them back to lookin good?? I've heard that Mother's is awesome. Is this going to give me the best results??
You have to know what kind of wheel coating they have. If the wheels are clearcoated, use a polish made for your paint. The paint polish is made to work on clearcoats, and the clear on your wheels is the same as the clear on your car.
If the wheels are not clearcoated, then you use a chrome polish for chrome wheels, and an aluminum polish for aluminum/alloy wheels.
Wheel cleaners are the same way, so be careful with those too. There are different types of wheel cleaners for different types of wheel finishes, and some of them will harm the wheels if used on the wrong type.

Mother's is pretty darn awesome, but you're going to put in some work with it. It results in a black residue that has to be buffed out, but it's an excellent polish if you plan to use it. I've only used it on mag wheels, though, so I don't know how well it will work on chrome or any other type of finish.
what is the structure of the stock sawblade wheels? are they clearcoated or not?
as soon as i get my new wheels out of my house and onto my car, i'm gonna get those sawblades shining, by polishing them up and then fixing some small areas of curb rash according to a procedure involving bondo, sandpaper, paint, and clearcoat i saw on autopia.org.
