After effect of Injen CAI on 01 SE

I just installed the INJEN CAI (part RD1935). I noticed a big drop in my fuel mileage. Is this a normal after effect until the ecu stabilizes withthe new intake? Local shop says that I should notice better fuel economy.

Have you been watching your right foot? It's hard not to get into the gas more when you first get an intake. If not, then I guess it's possible for your ECU to have to get use to the added air-flow.

Hahaha, I know I punched it harder after my RD1935 got installed, it just purrs . . . Anyway, reset the ECU, I agree with popo6spd, the ECU is wondering how you're getting so much air into the engine.

The Directions on the Injen CAI, says to disconnect your negative batter terminal First, you basically will feel the difference after you do that...

Stop exagerating. You probably won't notice any difference w/ an intake. Intake will make noise and that same noise will play w/ your head; make you think you got all that extra horses which in reality, hp gains are minimal.

I really doubt ya feel any gains with any intake unless ya have the rest of the exhaust system unrestricted... like intake/y/catback or intake/headers/catback... an intake alone won't make much of a difference except produce noise....

I think you are correct, the right foot did feel heavier. Just put some helium into it so as not to stomp on the gas more... thanks
