Replacing more parts, need advice...

I am also replacing the steering rack on my Max. My current one is shot. I am looking at this used one on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

Do any of you recommend buying it? I am only considering it for cost reasons.

One more thing I need to replace is my engine mounts. Can I just get my old useless ones filled with polyurethane or do I still have to get new ones even if I want to fill them with Poly or get the ES mount inserts.

Thanks for any help.

You can fill up your engine mounts with polyurethane. you'll just have to have another car to drive for about 3 days.. And it may cause a little more vibrations at idle..

Anyone else think I should go with that used rack on eBay, or should I invest in a new one for safety/realiability? I think they run around $200 new.

If I get polly mounts, should I do it myself or pay someone else to do it? How much would it cost either way? Thanks

Not too pricy, shipping might get you.

I do recommend you buy new boots and you might need to/want to get new tie rod ends. Internetautomart also sells rack bushings, you might want to look into those.

Mounts- you can do them yourself. I believe Matt recommended using a 7 day cure instead of the accelerated 3 day cure with heat (or both).

I'd be very wary of that rack because it's already been disassembled.
if you do get it, I'd highly recommend new boots / bellows and tie rods.

OK sounds good, only I didn't get the used rack. Do you have racks for sale? If so, what would be the price with tie rods, and shipped to 20740? Thanks.

373.34 that does include the $105 on the core which you'd get back once I get the old one back.
