5spd conversion question RE: 3/4" spacer ??
In the write up for the conversion, there is this:
Note: On a factory car w/ 5speed there is a spacer that is ¾ of an inch thick that is on the inside of the firewall. The 2 bolts that are on the clutch pedal that travel through the firewall go through this spacer, and somehow you will need to recreate it (VERRY IMPORTANT!! that you get it just the right size, maybe buy the spacer from Nissan).
Can someone please elaborate on this? Someone mentioned using washers...is this feasible? Someone else also mentioned something about it being threaded and using bolts but that really confused me. The guy I am buying the parts from said his spacer is welded to the body and the stealership has no part in the dB like that. What did the rest of you that have converted do?
