E-Brake Light Still On

E-Brake Light Still On

the ebrake light continues to be on even when the ebrake is down. ive heard that it was something like low brake fluid. does anyone know if this is correct? thanks

Yes, a low fluid level will cause the light to stay on.

either a low brake fluid level, a broken e-brake cable or a fault in the brake system can cause the "brake" light to turn on

ck for brake wear, fluid leaks and bad switch. if the fluid is low find the reason b4 just adding fluid.

if i were you i would add fluid then look for the problem, if you let it sit without adding any you can get air in the system

Another thing that may cuase this is the little floating device inside the brake fluid reservoir, this is the "sensor" that lets you know if the level is low. Mine did this the last time I changed my brakes and filled the reservoir, I just freed it up and it came back up to the top. If you have not done anything to the braking system, then this probably is not the problem.
