my doors are so hard to close. am i alone on this? i cant even explain how people have tried to close my doors and they go half shut. wtf is the prob? i even put some wd40 in the hinges and it helped a little, but it's still stiff. and its not even that they're sticking. its all 4 doors. so what the hell.

 

Probably because you are using WD40 and not silicone.

 

the door isnt hitting a fender or other metal is it? If its not then what i would do is lube up the doors with the wd40 and more the door back and forth the get the wd40 in. I was told that the doors close hard over time because of the lack of use.

Yea my rear right door does that, and screches real loud when closing fast. Already have plans to silicon it up. Cause WD40 does not work, well atleast it didn't for me.

 

I call the right rear door on my car the "man-door" because girls can't get it shut. One of my friends has a '94 Maxima GXE and the same door is exactly the same way on his car, too. I've tried working white lithium grease in there but it didn't do a whole lot. No screeching noises though.

 

silicone only. WD40 is not a proper lubricant for something like that. Its main purpose is a Water Displacer, hence the WD-40. use silicone and see what that does for ya.

what kind of silicon am i looking for? its not hitting a fender or anything, and my driver door does it too, so i don't think its lack of use

 

i put in silicone in my rear door a lot of times. That didn't help. I guess the previous owner did not open the rear door often enough. What really helped is simply grease. You have to grease it up, open and close 50 times and you will see, problem will be gone guaranteed!

There is some part that you can replace from the 97+ maxima's - its relatively cheap and i guess the problem with our doors (yes, i have a "man door" too) is caused by the plastic slide that everyone keeps siliconing/wd-40'ing. Have someone do a search, i posted a thread on it a while ago....
